A Gong Bath is a form of sound healing meditation. Participant’s are immersed in the vibrations of the instruments during a session (there is no water involved, you are bathed in sound)  No knowledge or experience is required, and it can be viewed as a form of meditation accessible to everyone.

As everything is vibrating so are we, sometimes we can become out of tune in either mind body or spirit and dis-ease can start to take hold. Through the healing frequencies of sound therapy our bodies can be brought back in tune and we can begin to feel healthy and balanced once more. Come and feel the deep relaxation and stress relieving effects of a therapeutic Sound Bath. Using Planetary and Symphonic Gongs, Crystal Singing Bowls, Tibetan Singing Bowls and other instrument’s rich harmonic frequencies you will be bathed in sound while you switch off, feeling the stresses and strains of the day melting away as peace and harmony come singing back to you.

What happens during a Sound Bath

During a Sound Bath you are taken on a sonic meditative journey. While you lie down comfortably with your eyes closed Leigh will play various instruments around you are known for their vibratory healing frequencies. You are free to relax and drift off where the sound takes you.

What to expect

A safe space and an atmospheric/relaxing environment with high quality Gongs and other instrument’s
Yoga mats are positioned around the Gongs and sound tools. You choose your space and lay in the most comfortable position for you (laying down on a comfortable mat is usual but not essential, so if you prefer you can sit down in a chair that is fine)

A short intro and setting your intention followed by a guided meditation/visualisation focusing on the breath to allow your whole being to settle in and relax. The more relaxed you are the more beneficial the session is for you.

Of course, it’s best not to have any expectations and each person’s experience is unique but it’s possible to have a range of experiences from being very relaxed, energised, emotional, visions, happy, anxious, or feeling creative! All emotions are valid…When the body becomes still and the mind becomes quiet we give ourselves time to find solutions and can even bring more clarity to a situation in our life. We may even feel more balanced after the session as the sounds may Re-tunes us! Many people feel a sense of bliss and peace after a gong bath, especially in the quiet moments after the Gongs have quietened down…the Shunyata.

Physically we may become still but also, we may find the body is twitchy as things come to the surface. Both reactions are normal, and every Gong Bath will be different.

Its important not to get up straight away and enjoy this peaceful stillness and silence, called the Shunyayta, the golden silence (empitness)

How does it work?

The sound of a gong helps the brain reach deep relaxation – specifically the delta and theta brain wave states, which are the slowest brain waves in humans. We tend to reach these states during daydreaming or deep sleep, and they are known to aid relaxation, creativity, and natural healing and are associated with meditative, clear, and peaceful states of mind…

  • reduce stress
  • clarity & balance
  • reduce inflammation
  • feeling more connected
  • Aids relaxation

There is no rush to leave and you can take your time to gather your thoughts and belongings before your journey home

Gong Puja

Leigh from Notley Yoga, Alexis from Gong Om,

The Gong Puja is a meditation ceremony and exercise in consciousness and dreaming, listening to the uninterrupted sound of several gongs for 7.5 hours.

In Buddhism, Puja (Sanskrit & Pali: pūjā) are expressions of “honor and devotional attention.” A Gong Puja is honoring & allowing space for our being’s ability to heal

Swiss mathematician and musician Hans Cousto, who calculated the planetary frequencies used in the planetary gongs today, stated that it took 45 minutes to complete a full sound journey. Yogi Bhajan believed that the gong was the most powerful tool for healing and that this 45-minute gong session would clear any immediate blocks.
Yogi Bhajan stated that 10 consecutive gong healings would clear most blocks so that the soul could then heal itself He believed this would relieve the body of human suffering to deliver us to our hearts. This is the purpose of the Puja, 10 sessions in one night to deliver optimum healing.

At your basic level, we are pure energy. Energy is never still, continuously vibrating in wavelengths and frequencies. Each conscious thought or movement is the result of a combination of chemical reactions that resonate and produce many tones and frequencies. The gong is the only instrument that produces tones that resonate so closely with that of our own existence and every cell in the body falls into harmony. The gong clears the path for healing, relaxing the mind, and creates a sacred space that welcomes calm into the heart.

On arrival at 8.30pm, you will be able to set your space. Please bring anything you need to make yourself comfortable. An inflatable camping mattress and sleeping bag or blanket is ideal. Feel free to bring along pillows, eye mask and anything else you might like to bring to aid relaxation. We will start with some gentle movement and Mantra to find our own personal vibration.
There will be an opening ceremony, ceremonial tea sharing and we will settle down to commence the puja at 9.30pm.
There will be 4 Gong Masters taking turns in the gong space so an uninterputed flow will continue through until 5am. During this time you are welcome to rest, sleep or meditate within the gong space. Once the Puja has begun we would ask that there is no talking and disruption to your fellow recipients be kept to a minimum. There will be an area in the adjacent building that you can retreat to should you wish for either refreshment or simply some time away should you want to. We would ask you to continue the sacred silence in all areas.

At sunrise and after 7.5 hours of continuous sound the gongs will fade away and the silence called the Shunyata, is as beautiful and healing as the gongs themselves. On rising you will be invited to participate in breakfast sponsored by the Natural Way Health food shop and cafe before you leave.

No experience of Puja or any belief is required to attend this event, simply bring an open heart and mind. We would however suggest that you experience at least one group gong bath or one-to-one gong healing session beforehand. Although this is not essential it will demonstrate how unique and powerful this experience is. A puja performed is often experienced as a deeply healing and life-affirming event the sonic frequencies invoke physical, emotional, and spiritual clearing, cleansing, and revitalizing effects within the participants.

A puja is a very individual experience, each person in the room will have an experience that is quite different. Trust that your experience will be right for you. Powerful, profound, joyful, and deeply moving, it can be a life-changing event.
Booking is essential as numbers will be strictly limited. To enable us to facilitate the Puja a payment of £75 will be required to confirm your place.

Solstice Sound Bath | Gongs & Bass

20th June 2020 7 – 8.15pm

Come and enjoy a journey of Sound on this special Solstice evening. Celebrating Mid Summer and taking time to pause, just as the sun will pause for a few days we can also take this to reflect and slow down.

Balancing the cosmic vibrations of the Gongs with the healing, soothing notes of the Bass guitar to bring you into deep relaxation.
A guided Meditation will help you relax and settle into this beautiful evening

pete-and-steve

Balancing the cosmic vibrations of the Gongs with the healing, soothing notes of the Bass guitar to bring you into deep relaxation. Using healing frequency to help guide the brain wave from Beta to Alpha.

Beta brainwaves dominate our normal waking state of consciousness when attention is directed toward cognitive tasks and the outside world. Beta is a ‘fast’ activity, present when we are alert, attentive, engaged in problem-solving, judgment, decision-making, or focused mental activity.

Alpha brainwaves are dominant during quietly flowing thoughts and in some meditative states. Alpha is ‘the power of now’, being here, in the present. Alpha is the resting state of the brain. Alpha waves aid overall mental coordination, calmness, alertness, mind/body integration, and learning

For anyone to be in the same space as Gongs, Bass and other therapeutic instruments will usually find it a healing experience, even though many people would not even be aware of it. Most people report that they feel relaxed and yet energized when listening to both the Gongs and a didgeridoo.

So come and experience this very different Sound Bath in a peaceful setting.
