Online Classes | Live Stream & Pre Recorded.

In light of the circumstances we’ve made the decision to offer you Online Yoga Classes for those unable to come to the Centre.
The idea is for us to be there to keep you mentally and emotionally well during this challenging time, particularly if you’re having to stay indoors. Plus it keeps us afloat for your return! At a time of uncertainly, to maintain a yoga/meditation practice will keep you your immune system boosted and help keep you grounded.

We will be using an online streaming system i.e. where we can see & talk to one another so we can connect with another human being! Please book yourself onto a class below and we will do our best to provide you with a first class experience.
You will need a home computer/tablet/mobile phone in a place where you can see it while you practice. Try to find find a quiet place and getting your blanket/pillow etc. ready beforehand. The beauty of this is anyone can join in from anywhere! This is new to all of us and not something we had planned on doing so we are slightly out of our comfort zone so there’s bound to be hiccups along the way hence we are asking for your patience while we all become accustomed.

We greatly appreciate all your support and consideration; without you we can’t exist, and we want to he here for you all when life becomes more settled.

Please follow the details below for accessing classes on ZOOM!

Select a device in your home that has a camera that can be pointed at the space in which you will practice your Online Yoga class:

Set up your Laptop/Tablet/phone or other device with the zoom application 

Visit https://zoom.us/download on your device and download the “Zoom Client for Meetings” application (for a Laptop) or the Zoom Mobile Apps for your Tablet/Phone (iOS & Android supported)

Install the application and register with Zoom the software is perfectly reputable and safe.

Important Information. The app will pop up a ‘Select audio’ as an option (computer or internet audio) tap it and accept. When it asks if you give Zoom permission to access your audio and camera/video, make sure you say yes to this. If you cannot hear the class you have missed this step, close down and restart the meeting from the email link we sent

I would recommend you download the zoom app and if you have not used it before and test it ASAP prior to the class. I obviously cannot sort out individual issues with the apps functionality during the class. If you miss the class you can be sent the class by email as well.

Before class

1 –  Class registration will close 1 hour before the class starts, so please book your place BEFORE that time!

2 – 30 mins before your class is due to start, you will be sent a unique code to enter into zoom. (typically this will be a 6 digit number)

3 –  About 10 mins before your class is due to start, prepare your personal Yoga space, close the doors and try to reduce the ambient noise levels in the room.

You will then click the link from the email and youre in!!! Its so simple. 

During the class

Your teacher may remotely mute all class attendees, so if you need to speak, ensure you UN-Mute yourself first, we may also turn off all you videos as the may interfere with the internet capacity which is struggling at the moment. 

Remember if you loose connection I can share the video with you later.

Recorded LIVE class | I record every LIVE class which can be purchased once the class has finished, maybe good for people with low internet connection or cant make the LIVE classes.

Workshops | One hour workshops for a specific intention or style of Yoga.

Classes will be £6 for live stream, £8 for pre recorded and recorded live classes and £6 for workshop.

Fri 17th July 7.30 – 9.30pm | Friday Night Chillout | Time to Pause… 

We maybe be feeling over stimulated at the moment as we are watching the news/social media concerning Covid 19. You may find yourself craving some downtime but struggling to switch off. Maybe we are online more & more as many people are working from home, meetings are online etc. Even though our class is online you are going to be switching off and following a deeply relaxing practice.

This class will help us to slow down the pace of life and sooth the servous system
Starting with a gentle physical practice to get rid of any nervous energy, followed by Pranayama (breathing practice) to slow us down and come into the parasympathetic nervous system, the relaxation response.The guided relaxation will be an excellent opportunity to disconnect from the frenetic activity of daily life and let your speedometer return to 0 mph.

The class will offer a welcome respite among all the turbulence of life and help to prepare the mind and body for the inward stroke of meditation and deepened awareness. A great way to end the week and begin your weekend in a more relaxed state. 

 

 

Friday 31st July  | Live stream Meditation with Naseem 7.30 – 8.45pm

The once a month Meditation and Mindfulness, class I will be sharing with you, will embrace some Buddhist chanting, a Mantra I chant everyday. It is a mantra that uplifts, centres, opens and revives, bringing a sense of being centred and a quiet peaceful inner joy. I will take you through some gentle movement to open the heart, and bring awareness to our body. Through gentle breath you will become aware of the present moment and quiet the mind. There will be time to share experiences or ask questions if you wish.
I hope together, we can experience a beautiful journey of the heart.

Slows Down the Pace of Life
Restorative yoga is an excellent opportunity to disconnect from the frenetic activity of daily life and let your speedometer return to 0 mph. It offers a welcome respite among all the turbulence of life and helps to prepare the mind and body for the inward stroke of meditation and deepened awareness. Moving slowly through the poses allows you to explore your mind and body at a steady and natural tempo. Using home props with pillows/blankets/books etc we will marinade in each posture for at least five minutes, allowing the body and mind to surrender.
Soothing to the Nervous System
The slower pace and deep breathing that you get in a restorative yoga class triggers the parasympathetic nervous system from the very first pose. This activation helps to mitigate the effects of the regular fight-or-flight stress response that can be damaging to your physiology and well-being. The overall calming effect on the nervous system sets a deeply relaxing tone for the class that comforts your whole being

 

 

Friday 19th June 7.30 – 9.30pm | Solstice Nidra

Celebrating Mid Summer and taking time to pause, just as the sun will pause for a few days we can also take this to reflect on the past 6 months and honour the light before its gentle decline towards the latter half of the year. 

Yoga nidra, or yogic sleep as it is commonly known, is an immensely powerful meditation technique, and one of the easiest yoga practices to develop and maintain. While the practitioner rests comfortably in savasana (supine), this systematic meditation takes you through the pancha maya kosha (five layers of self), leaving you with a sense of wholeness. A deeply relaxing experience as we navigate conscious relaxation.

We will start with a slow mindful practice, finding comfort and ease in the body and breath. Followed by a 45 min Nidra. There will be time to linger in Savasana allowing ourselves to surrender to Mid Summer.
